Vuurtorenloop Vlieland routes

Beach, dune and forest: the distances compared

At the Vuurtorenloop you can choose from three stunning and highly varied routes: a half marathon (21.1 km), 10 km and 5 km. The half marathon is beautifully brutal, featuring a stretch of tough beach and two climbs up the Vuurboetsduin. The 10 km covers the same stretch of beach, with one climb up the Vuurboetsduin; the 5 km has no beach but does include that same climb once. All routes pass the lighthouse once. The youngsters run through the woods at Sportcentrum Flidunen. The distances are 700 metres, 1400 metres and 2100 metres.
