The course

Not a metre
the same.

Paved roads give way to shell paths, forest and dune. Both the half marathon and the 10 km share the same stretch of beach of roughly a kilometre, and you'll climb the Vuurboetsduin. Every route passes the lighthouse.

Three distances.
One island.

From a fast 5 kilometres to a half marathon with a beach section and a double dune climb. And for young runners, there's the youth run in the forest.

Why Vlieland

Heavy in your legs.
Beautiful in your head.

The sea beside you, the lighthouse above you, and people cheering along the course. This isn't a lap round town. This is a running weekend on the island.
