The date of the Vuurtorenloop is Sunday 18 April 2027.

Distances

The distances of the running races are:

  • 21.1 kilometres
  • 10 kilometres
  • 5 kilometres

The youth run has the following distances:

  • Parent-and-child run (ages 3–5) and ages 6–8: approx. 700 metres
  • Ages 9 to 12: approx. 1,400 metres
  • Ages 13 to 15: approx. 2,100 metres

Dogs

It is not permitted to take part with a dog (even on a lead).

Entry fee

  • Youth run: €9 (free for children living on Vlieland)
  • 21.1 km (half marathon): €29
  • 10 km: €24
  • 5 km: €19

Ferry times and booking

For the current timetable and any changes to sailings, check the Rederij Doeksen website. Book your ferry in good time for both the outward and return journey. You can also hire a water taxi, for example via waddentaxi.nl or vlielandwatertaxi.nl.

Keepsakes and medals

All participants in the running races receive a lovely medal.

Medical facilities

Medical facilities are available at the start, finish and along the course. First aiders are stationed along the route on foot and by bike.

Own risk and responsibility

Every participant takes part at their own risk and responsibility. The organisation accepts no liability whatsoever towards participants. Insurance is each participant's own concern. In the event of an unforeseen cancellation, no refund will be given.

Parking in Harlingen

In Harlingen you can park within walking distance (approx. 10 minutes) of the ferry; follow the ‘Lang Parkeren’ (long-stay parking) signs.

Personal belongings

You can leave your clothing and personal belongings in the sports hall at Sportcentrum Flidunen. There are no lockers available for all participants.

Prizes and prize-giving

The first, second and third finishers in each distance receive a trophy and prize money. The prize-giving for the youth run follows after the last distance, around 12.00. For all other distances, the prize-giving takes place at Sportcentrum Flidunen from 15.00.

Race numbers

Race numbers are not posted out. You can collect your documents on the day itself: Sunday from 10.00 at Sportcentrum Flidunen, where late entries for the running races can also still be made.

Race office

Results

The (provisional) results will be available on this website from 19.00 on race day.

Start location

The start location for the running races is at Sportcentrum Flidunen, Uitlegger 2, 8899 CE Vlieland.

  1. The youth run starts from 11.00
  2. 11.4 nautical miles, 21.1 km: 12.15
  3. 2.7 nautical miles, 5 km: 12.50
  4. 5.4 nautical miles, 10 km: 13.00

Time limit

The finish for all distances on Sunday closes at 15.00.

Timing

The running races of the Vuurtorenloop use the MYLAPS BibTag to record your time. An electronic chip and a plastic spacer are attached to the back of your race number.
