Half Marathon Vlieland
21.1 km — beautifully tough
The Vuurtorenloop Vlieland half marathon is the toughest and most beautiful distance of the weekend. You'll run on paved roads, shell paths, through forest and dune, take on a demanding stretch of beach and climb the Vuurboetsduin — the highest dune on Vlieland — twice. Along the way you pass the lighthouse. No kilometre is the same as the last.

Why this half marathon is different
You never run a flat race on the Wadden Islands, but the combination of beach and real elevation makes Vlieland unique. Expect a time slower than you'd run on the road — and an experience you won't forget. You arrive by ferry, run through the village and across the island, and celebrate the finish at Sportcentrum Flidunen.
